| Merlin's true weakness: Vivienne |
"O not so strange as my long asking it, Not yet so strange as you yourself are strange, Nor half so strange as that dark mood of yours. I ever feared ye were not wholly mine; And see, yourself have owned ye did me wrong. The people call you prophet: let it be."

I go by many names... 'Dame du Lac', 'Malory', 'Nimue', 'Lady Nimue', 'Niniane', 'Nyneve', 'Vivienne', 'Vivien', 'Lady Vivien', 'Lady of the Lake', 'Raven' and also 'Lady Luck'. Who I am, is a bit harder to explain. I have existed through ages, helping those who asked of my help and seeking out those who have done me wrong. I share with you, the magic, that is the greatest love of all time. A love that has lasted for thousands of centuries and has finally been reborn. I searched long and far for my love. In my younger years, still very immature, I locked him away from the world, protecting him from the those who wished to use him and drain him of his magical powers. His name is Merlin, and he too goes by many names; too many infact to list. I imprisoned him. And although to some that may sound unforgiving, it was truely for his own protection. His honesty and desire to help those "kindred spirits" that need salvation; did indeed weaken his magic. He fell prey to falsehoods of others wishing and desiring to own his magic and trickery to steal his love. I intended only to lock him away long enough to allow him to rebuild his strength and resistance to such false vixens. But alas, my magic held him for not, and he escaped. In search of me,he found many wishing to prey upon his good nature and was almost lost to me. But I found him, cold and battling madness. His magic, almost all but spent again. He rests now with me and is safe once again within my arms and heart, never again to be fooled by false prophets of love. | Who I am... I am the truest of truth and the beauty of love... I am Nimue

| Merlin slays his dragon with the aid of LOVE |
"I met a lady in the meads,Full beautiful -a faery's child, Her hair was long, her foot was light, And her eyes were wild. I made a garland for her head, And bracelets too, and fragrant zone; She looked at me as she did love, And made sweet moan. I set her on my pacing steed, And nothing else saw all day long, For sidelong would she bend, and sing A faery's song. She found me roots of relish sweet, And honey wild, and manna dew, And sure in language strange she said `I love thee true.'"
